Marathoners like to work slowly and steadily, with plenty of lead time. Doing consistent work over a long period of time boosts their efficiency and their creativity.
By contrast, sprinters welcome the intensity of time pressure. They like to work close to the deadline, in concentrated stretches. A sprint ignites their creativity and productivity, and if they start too early, they’re inefficient.
There’s no right or wrong way, but if you’re working with other people, it’s helpful to know that they might have a different approach from you.
