- Listen. Consider the words of other people. What quotations do you replay in your mind? What offhand comments have you found unforgettable?
- Fight the urge to be too comprehensive. To make commandments memorable, keep the snappy—just a short phrase.
- Know that each person’s list will differ. For one person, “Say yes” might be at the top of the list. For someone else, “Say yes” might be a terrible addition to his commandments, because he tends to over commit. Think about yourself, your values, your strengths and weaknesses, and your interests.
