Fight the Feeling of Hurry

Feeling hurried comes in at least three flavors:

  • With treadmill hurry, we feel we feel that we can’t turn off for fear we’ll never catch up — we can’t stop checking email over the weekend or take a week’s vacation.
  • With to-do-list hurry, we feel we have to race around and accomplish too many things in too little time.
  • With put-out-the-fires hurry, we feel that we’re spending all our time dealing with urgent things, instead of doing the things that are really most important.

Think about why you’re in a hurry, so you can figure out ways to slow down.
