Friday? More like Fri-YAY-I get to-run-long!

First Place Age Division!

One year ago today I received this honor in the mail! I’m still overwhelmed with shock and gratitude. 🙏🏽🙌🏽🏃🏼‍♀️

Best of luck to everyone running LA this year, and let’s see how I do in Boston!

Happy Valentine’s Day to one of my greatest loves in life — RUNNING! 🏃🏼‍♀️😍❤️

And Happy 1 Year Anniversary of my marathon PR of 3:28:00!

Boston here I come!

Today I GET to workout.

Its a blessing not everyone has.

I’m grateful for my amazing body and a life that allows me to do these amazing things.

20 miles— here I come!

Go the Extra Mile. It’s Never Crowded.

Went the extra mile, dropped a minute off my pace, and shout out to the lady who said “Good job! Keep it up!” during the last .2 miles! 🏃🏼‍♀️👍🏽
Go the extra mile. It feels GOOD. 🏃🏼‍♀️💪🏽😊

Running Marathons is FUN!

Running marathons is FUN! 😊

Also, endorphins may have a small part to play. 😏
Friday’s are my long runs for Boston — and they’re FUN — for ME!

What are you doing that’s fun for YOU today?!

It doesn’t matter HOW you do it — JUST DO IT

Today was a 13 miler for Boston. I woke up and it was raining. By raining, I mean POURING (flash floods and everything!). I knew I would feel better if I got it done, and raining didn’t seem like a good enough excuse, (I’ve ran in snow storms and -26 wind chill before — NOT recommended!), so I laced up and started out.
3 miles in, I was cold, soaked, and not really enjoying my run. I run because I love it. I started thinking “you know Jo, you have FREE access to treadmills in the gym right now. You could be dry, warm, and still get your run in, and you might actually enjoy it.”
I was seriously contemplating this, but I was also already 3 miles in. Then a couple of cars passed, and you know how their tires splash and send that spray up, and it always drenches the people at the worst times in movies?

Yeah, that was me.

And that was it.
I turned around, (actually got drenched again), sprinted back, put on dry socks and shoes, and headed to the gym.
And I STILL got my 13 miler in. 🏃🏼‍♀️😊
It doesn’t matter HOW you do it — JUST DO IT!

“Running” into another runner on my run today… He happens to be running Boston in April, too! I love the camaraderie of running.
