IT’S MARATHON MONDAY!
Happy Boston Marathon Day! 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏼♂️🦄💙💛✨
Congratulations to all the runners running today!
I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since I ran the Boston Marathon, and fulfilled one of my life dreams. 😍
While I am a little sad I’m not running it this year, I know there are limited spots in the race. Not only do you have to qualify, but depending on how many other people qualify and register, you still might not get in.
I remember how absolutely ecstatic I was last year for the amazing opportunity to make my dreams come true,
so this year, I keep telling myself that
because I’m not running it, there is one other person who is.
One more person gets the opportunity to run their first Boston Marathon, to feel that indescribable feeling, to make their dreams come true.
And I’m still disappointed, but reminding myself of this makes it okay.
But I’ll still be back next year. 😉🏃🏼♀️🦄💙💛✨
And Happy 1 Year Anniversary of my marathon PR of 3:28:00!
Boston here I come!
Its a blessing not everyone has.
I’m grateful for my amazing body and a life that allows me to do these amazing things.
20 miles— here I come!
Went the extra mile, dropped a minute off my pace, and shout out to the lady who said “Good job! Keep it up!” during the last .2 miles! 🏃🏼♀️👍🏽
Go the extra mile. It feels GOOD. 🏃🏼♀️💪🏽😊
Running marathons is FUN! 😊
Also, endorphins may have a small part to play. 😏
Friday’s are my long runs for Boston — and they’re FUN — for ME!
What are you doing that’s fun for YOU today?!
Today was a 13 miler for Boston. I woke up and it was raining. By raining, I mean POURING (flash floods and everything!). I knew I would feel better if I got it done, and raining didn’t seem like a good enough excuse, (I’ve ran in snow storms and -26 wind chill before — NOT recommended!), so I laced up and started out.
3 miles in, I was cold, soaked, and not really enjoying my run. I run because I love it. I started thinking “you know Jo, you have FREE access to treadmills in the gym right now. You could be dry, warm, and still get your run in, and you might actually enjoy it.”
I was seriously contemplating this, but I was also already 3 miles in. Then a couple of cars passed, and you know how their tires splash and send that spray up, and it always drenches the people at the worst times in movies?
Yeah, that was me.
And that was it.
I turned around, (actually got drenched again), sprinted back, put on dry socks and shoes, and headed to the gym.
And I STILL got my 13 miler in. 🏃🏼♀️😊
It doesn’t matter HOW you do it — JUST DO IT!
